Crabtree, Hannah Mary
c1877 – 3 November 1937

Hannah Mary Crabtree was born in Saltaire c1877. She was the youngest of seven children to Thomas & Mary Crabtree. In 1881 & 1891 they were living at 11 Dove Street in Saltaire. Thomas was working as a worsted dyer and in 1891 Hannah was working as a silk picker.

Hannah married Robert William Senior 28 September 1896 at St. Pauls Shipley. By 1911 they were living at 66 Barrett Street in Shipley; Robert was a postman. They had two sons; Allen born c1899 and Walter born c1903. Allen served with the Royal Army Medical Corps during World War One. 

Hannah died 3 November 1937, aged 60. Her home was 66 Barrett Street in Shipley.

 

Crabtree, Julia
1873 – 1928

Julia Crabtree was born 1873 in Saltaire, the fourth of ten children to Samuel Glover Crabtree & Elizabeth Dibb. They were married 24 December 1864 at Bradford Cathedral. In 1881 & 1891 the family were living at 29 Albert Road (renumbered 57) in Saltaire. Samuel was an overlooker in the mill.

In 1891 Julia worked as a cotton winder. By 1901 the family had moved to 22 Albert Road (renumbered 43) in Saltaire with Julia now working as a mohair winder.

Julia married George Henry Wells 26 December 1908 at St Pauls Shipley. By 1911 they were living, without children, at Mill Lane, Methley, near Leeds. George was a railway porter.

Julia died in 1928 aged 56. Julia was the sister of Mary Elizabeth Crabtree.

 

Crabtree, Mary Elizabeth
1878 – 1907

Mary Elizabeth Crabtree was born 1878 in Saltaire, the seventh of ten children to Samuel Glover Crabtree & Elizabeth Dibb. They were married 24 December 1864 at Bradford Cathedral. In 1881 & 1891 the family were living at 29 Albert Road (renumbered 57) in Saltaire. Samuel was an overlooker in the mill.

In 1891 Mary, aged just 13, was working as a worsted spinner. By 1901 the family had moved to 22 Albert Road (renumbered 43) in Saltaire with Mary now working as a winder.

Sadly Mary died a spinster in 1907 aged just 29. Mary was the sister of Julia Crabtree.
