The next meeting of Saltaire History Club is on Thurs 1 Dec, 7 – 9 PM, in the Resource Centre of Shipley College’s Exhibition Rd building (Post Code BD18 3JW – see end of message for further directions).
The last few months have been very fruitful in that more than one member of the Club has unearthed new research findings, & new acquisitions have been received by Saltaire Archives.
Consequently, the first part of our meeting will be given over to presentations of those findings, to bring members up to date. If any member has new “finds” to report that you would like to describe, please get in touch with us in advance of the meeting.
The Club celebrates its 10th birthday this month, & a tradition that has built up over the years is the Christmas Quiz – so bring along your thinking caps for the second half of our Dec meeting. Quiz master for the night will be our very own chairman Colin (Coates).
All welcome (and it’s still free)!
Hope very much that you can join us for what promises to be an enjoyable meeting.
Best wishes
Dave (Shaw) for Saltaire History Club
PS The Resource Centre is on the second floor, accessible either by stairs or lift. For those travelling to the venue by car there is a Pay & Display Car Park just above the College, or nearby free on-street parking may be available if your fingers are crossed. There will be someone at the entrance to the building to greet & guide those unfamiliar with its layout.
PPS For those of you who can’t make it in Dec, the provisional dates of Club meetings in 2017 are: 9 March; 8 June; 7 Sept; & 7 Dec.
