Disease, Heath and Safety in Saltaire
Two speakers: Adele Gunn and Joan Barton
Dear Friends,
Greetings, not only to our regulars, but particularly to those newcomers receiving their first round-robin email about our Club.
Just to let you know about our next meeting, when we feature two talks by Club members on a subject that was very close to the heart of Sir Titus – Disease, Health and Safety in Saltaire.
Our two speakers – Adele Gunn and Joan Barton – both have specialist experience of the subject and we can be sure of an interesting evening. Adele is the Health and Safety Officer at Pace, so has direct experience of some health and safety issues that exist in Salts Mill, even in the present day. Joan was for many years a Health Visitor in the locality, and as such has an understanding of the evolving nature of the subject from its early beginnings.
The meeting will have the usual form, with the two talks separated by a tea break, during which we will all have chance to catch up on the latest history findings, or just chat to friends who we haven’t seen since global warming really set in, in mid-December. We’ll also have the usual goodies for sale – Saltaire history books, CDs etc – and those thinking about some new research angle are specifically invited to air their thoughts.
As usual, our meeting will be held in Shipley College, Exhibition Rd, Saltaire, 7 – 9 pm.
We very much look forward to seeing you on the 4th.
Best wishes
Dave
