Locals welcome licensee back to Boathouse

The Boathouse, Saltaire

The Boathouse in Saltaire, down by the River Aire, has become “part of the furniture” since it opened in 1871, but has gone through a bit of a crisis for a couple of years after it changed ownership. Welcome news for locals is that long tern licensee Steve is back in charge and re-forming his partnership with cook Craig Martindale. Customer numbers are slowly recovering, and there was a packed house for Eddie Lawler’s music evening in January.

Regular entertainment now includes the Sunday Social, starting at 8.30 p.m. on the last Sunday of each month, with recorded music presented by two respected local DJs, Wally (of BCB) and Tony Safari. On Wednesday evening there is themed food, with the quiz moving to Thursday.
