11th January 1879 - Saltaire Fire Brigade. On Saturday last the members of this brigade held their annual dinner at the Rosse Hotel…  Mr. H. Stolworthy, the Superintendent of the Brigade, was called upon to preside… the health of the firm of Sir Titus Salt, Sons & Co., coupled with that of “their kind friends”, was drunk with enthusiasm.

18th January 1879 - Saltaire Angling Association. Mr. Titus Salt has again kindly lent the Committee his fish-hatching apparatus; 7,000 eggs have been procured from Malham Tarn, and these, together with a few from their own water, are going on for the next season.

25th January 1879 - The workpeople at Saltaire, have received notice that on account of the increased depression of trade, a reduction in wages will be made next week.
