SALT’S JIVE - Ceroc at Victoria Hall

Victoria Hall, SaltaireModern Jive (or Ceroc as it is sometimes called) is the largest, fastest growing dance phenomenon since Rock ‘n’ Roll. In a nutshell it’s where the sexy side of Salsa meets the energy of Rock ‘n’ Roll. It's partner dancing made accessible to everyone with classes of anything from 40 to 300 people, all up for the great night out dancing to music from the swing of the 40’s to Modern day chart favourites. If you hear it on the radio in the morning, we will probably be dancing to it in the evening.

Modern Jive is great exercise and for some a whole evening’s dancing is the same as running a marathon! It’s great fun and a super way of meeting new people.  You will dance with probably 20 people and meet 100 in one evening. Turn up on your own or bring a partner. The choice is yours but a partner is not necessary as the best way to learn is to dance with as many people as possible. And it’s easy – complete beginners with two left feet are welcome and you will be able to dance Modern Jive to your favourite record within 40 minutes of entering the venue! Modern Jive evenings start with a 45 minute class designed for complete beginners. This is followed by a 30 minute intermediate class and then freestyle when you can practice your dancing to a full range of music. There’s no need to book in advance, just pay £6 on the door for a complete night out – fun, exercise, licensed bar, superb dance floor, and of course, great music!
