Some 20 local history, heritage and Friends groups from the Airedale area, and support services have already signed-up to join the Local Heritage Exchange event on Saturday, July 4th, (10am to 4pm) at St Paul’s Church, Shipley.

The event will consist of displays, speakers, group presentations, slides and information exchange; all supported by a cuppa and cake. It also matches with the church’s aim to engage with the community.

The programme includes archivist Tish Lawson who will ask participants to think about ‘Who Lived in Your House?’ There will also be an opportunity to see unique historical slides of Baildon and Shipley compiled by Ian Watson and Mike Lawson. Heritage educator Dave Weldrake will ask: ‘Is Your Heritage Safe in a Time of Change?’
