Jonathan WensleyJonathan Wensley: I've decided to undertake the challenge of a lifetime by running the 2015 Virgin London Marathon to raise money for the Royal National Institute of Blind People, RNIB. Money raised for the RNIB goes towards helping to support partially sighted and blind people to live independent lives which many of us take for granted.

I grew up knowing a family friend who was partially sighted, I recall when he was a teenager he told me he fancied Kylie Minogue, being an adolescent I responded "how can you fancy someone you haven't seen" to which he responded "I like her voice" - this struck me as being very profound and made me realise how loss of sight shouldn't get in the way of leading a fulfilled life. I have now been diagnosed with an eye condition myself called Optic Disc Drusen, ODD, although in its very early stages of sight loss, I am in no way unable to live an accomplished and self-sufficient life.

After sustaining a leg injury late last year which requires frequent exercise to maintain use, which only adds to the challenge, but still very able to run unaided and unaffected by serious sight loss, this I decided was the right time to take on the challenge to raise money to help many people to live life to the fullest.

Please help me to raise money for this fantastic organisation to give anyone with a sight problem access to specialist services and support.
